5 Must-Have Baking Tools!

Hey guys,

For those of you overwhelmed with the concept of baking or have no idea where to start and what to buy this is the post you’re looking for! Baking can seem slightly intimidating for a beginner and those over complicated recipe videos do not help whatsoever. You know what I’m talking about right? Right.

Don’t know what you need to make that cupcake you keep dreaming about? Here are a few essentials to get you started –

1. A Whisk

This is one of the basic tools you need in your kitchen even if you don’t bake. It’s so versatile from getting rid of lumps in your soup to getting your batter silky smooth to fluffy eggs. Probably why I own like 5 of these. Don’t have one? Go get one right now and you won’t regret it. Trust me.

2. Measuring Cups

Okay, so baking isn’t something you can eyeball. The measurements have to be perfect if you want the end result to be perfect, more or less. When a recipe says 1 teaspoon of baking powder it means 1 teaspoon of baking powder and not something that resembles a teaspoon. Also, they’re cheap and can be found in any baking supply/grocery store.

3. A Spatula

Now, this is another multipurpose tool that everyone who owns a kitchen or a stove needs. It is so useful in scraping bowls and getting out every last drop of that delicious cake batter. Drools.

4. A Muffin Tray

If you want to buy just one baking utensil for your oven it’s a muffin tray. Not only can you make cupcakes and muffins but a whole variety of savory recipes too.  Check out my next blog post for recipes that can be made in a muffin tray.

5. A Rolling Pin

To bake pastry and pies, a rolling pin is of the utmost necessity. Not only does it get the dough flat and even it can be used to keep away your pesky boyfriend from snacking on the filling while you bake. Seriously.
